Colin Seymour - Finance Director
Although Colin has retired from practising law, his days now consist in looking after the finance and compliance of CCR. With a background in legal management and finance, and running private client and conveyancing matters during his fee earning days, Colin brings to the table a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team at CCR. Whenever spare time allows, Colin’s keen interests are horse racing, sailing, travel and grapes – sampling the world of fine wines!
Colin also offers a consultancy service to legal firms when they are considering a merger or sale of their business.
Mike’s role of Managing Director encompasses overall responsibility for the strategy of the business and its implementation. As a partner for many years in a local law firm, Mike has always taken a keen interest in the wider management and strategy of all sizes of legal practices. The team at CCR are no strangers to Mike, many of whom in past years he has had the pleasure of working with. Spare time is a bit of a luxury but Mike enjoys his down time by cooking, sailing, rugby, photography and playing guitar in a local band – he’s not a bad singer too!
Julie joined CCR in 2009, and her promotion to Operations Director in 2012 was well deserved given her previous fee earning experience, running her own caseload of personal injury litigation from RTAs to high value multi-track claims. Julie has a unique understanding of the trials and tribulations, which fee earners face when it comes to recovering costs. Her extensive knowledge of defendant and claimant cost issues, has enhanced her reputation as a key person whom clients seek to engage - trusting her attention to detail to maximise their costs in personal injury litigation.
Beyond the desk, Julie swaps court appeals for the badminton court, playing in a County league. Music features high on her list of interests – enjoying musical theatre, concerts and festivals, which is just as well, as she too sings in a band!
Richard Aldrich - Costs Lawyer/Costs Budgeting Specialist
The Chancellor isn’t the only person who knows about budgets! Richard joined the CCR team in 2015, predominantly preparing budgets for multi-track personal injury and clinical negligence cases, as well as civil litigation and legal aid matters falling within Richard’s expertise. Richard undertakes all of the costs budget negotiations for CCR and also attends CCMC hearings when asked to do so by his clients.
Richard is a member of the Association of Costs Lawyers, and coupled with many years of costing experience and expertise, you can be confident of his tenacity to detail when handling complex files, and replying to Points of Dispute.
With interests in photography, playing darts and being a keen fan of a local amateur football team, time outside the world of budgets adds up to plenty of enjoyment.

Don’t be fooled by his easy, personable, professional manner - it belies his tenacity to detail, dedication and perseverance in securing the best financial settlement for clients.
Following on from his law degree at Leicester University, Dan joined CCR in 2010. Having drafted numerous high value bills, Dan took a change of direction in working solely as a costs negotiator. Dan is also a member of the Association of Costs Lawyers.
Away from the office, Dan keeps himself active by regularly attending the gym, undertaking the occasional run and he also enjoys playing golf, watching football and rugby when possible.
Before joining CCR in 2009, Hannah worked for five years in a firm of solicitors, two years of which were spent working in a busy PI department. Hannah specialises in the preparation of Costs Budgets and Bills of Costs for high value complex claims for a variety of different clients. Hannah’s expertise is also invaluable, as she assists with the training of all new staff members.
Although family time swallows up most of Hannah’s spare time, she still finds time to be a Parent Governor of a local primary school and enjoys yoga, jogging, music and the theatre.
Jo presently drafts detailed Bills of Costs to include complex multi-track high valued claims (including phased Bills of Costs) and also prepares detailed Costs Budgets. Jo also undertakes costs negotiations for clients who are faced with having to pay an adverse costs bill.
At weekends, Jo enjoys watching football, reading, cycling and spending time with family.
Donna joined CCR in 2011, having previously spent 24 years working in the financial services sector. Donna’s experience and expertise in the world of accounting has proved to be a great asset in her transferring her skills to legal costs drafting where she tackles complex Bills of Costs. Donna’s accounting skills ensure that no stone (or disbursement) is left unturned!
Outside of work, Donna enjoys socialising with friends and family, and trying to keep fit by running, and yoga. Donna also likes road cycling – not restricted to the flat lands of Lincolnshire!
Hannah has been involved in the legal profession from a young age, with her Father being a Partner in a local firm of Solicitors for many years until his retirement and her Mother being a Conveyancing Assistant. Hannah’s previous employment roles included financial and accounting positions, thus her joining CCR in 2010 as Law Costs Draftsman was a natural step for her to take. Hannah now prepares Bills of Costs, predominantly for judicial review (immigration) matters, and she is also responsible for the day to day administration and financial accounting of the firm.
Foremost for Hannah, any free time is family time, enjoying holidays, and outings. When at home, hobbies include dining out, a round of golf, and the occasional trip to a racecourse – but don’t rely on any of her tips!
Shirley gained a vast amount of knowledge and experience in personal injury claims and legal accounts, having worked for a local firm of Solicitors for 8 years before joining CCR in 2010.
Having worked for CCR for over 7 years, Shirley has significant experience drafting bills, schedules and N260s, bringing her accounts experience to the fore in this area of costing.
When Shirley does manage to look up from the calculator, she enjoys reading, cycling, and badminton. Spending time with her two granddaughters is also a major enjoyment to Shirley – which no doubt keeps her energy levels up too!
Prior to joining CCR in 2014, Claire spent over 10 years working for a local firm of solicitors as a litigation assistant dealing predominantly with personal injury matters where she was responsible for the day to day running of a case load in excess of 80 files.
Claire was able to utilise that knowledge and experience when she turned her hand to being a law costs draftsman, and currently she prepares detailed Bills of Costs (including phased bills) and also assists with the preparation of Costs Budgets.
Spare time is busy with a young family but Claire enjoys family holidays and weekends away.
Lindsey has a Business Studies Degree and previously worked for Cardiff University as business administrator specialising in finance and tendering procedures.
Her business and finance acumen enabled Lindsey to quickly learn the ropes of law costs drafting work and, despite only having joined the firm in 2015, she is a valued member of the team who prefers the challenge of complex phased Bills of Costs. Lindsey also assists with the preparation of Costs Budgets and undertakes costs negotiations.
Live music, and exotic travel are top interests for Lindsey, and if they can be combined – all the better!
Michelle is the newest member to join CCR, in 2016. Michelle arguably had one of the most challenging working backgrounds, that of a full-time Mum to three children! In what little spare time Michelle had, she decided to pursue her interest in the law by undertaking an Open University Law Degree which, led to her applying to CCR to train as a law costs draftsman. Since joining CCR Michelle has excelled in her new role, preparing Bills of Costs to a high standard and is presently undergoing training in respect of phased billing and costs budgeting.
Family time keeps Michelle busy when she is away from the office but whenever time allows she enjoys reading, baking and watching television.
